This is a free sample module of a full program called the ACPE Spiritual Care Specialist, which is a 48-hour training in pastoral counseling and spiritual care for healers in a variety of settings
Grief and loss are perhaps the single most prevalent issues that caregivers will encounter in their ministries. Our culture discourages us from directly and productively facing the pain of grief. As such, grieving people will often seek out a faith leader or helping professional for support in sorting through their confusion about how they are feeling.
Given this, it is essential that caregivers acquire basic knowledge about grief and loss, so that they are equipped to respond effectively to it when they encounter it. This module consists of 50 minutes of video lecture and 10 minutes of reading (1 hour total). |
Grief, Loss, and Resilience (1 hour)
Goal: To offer a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of grief and loss and to provide participants with concrete strategies for supporting people experiencing grief.
